It is a retreat for campers with physical and mental disabilities. They come for the weekend and receive one on one attention from staff and Walcamp volunteers. Walcamp needs a nurse to be there for the weekend to moniter and distribute medications to the campers. It is a whole weekend commitment. The nurse or doctor would be housed in our facilities and would receive food and lodging for free. The volunteer must be a RN or doctor. The first opportunity is December 5th-7th, and other is January 2nd-4th. Total Number of Volunteers Needed: 4 Find Out More Summer Camp Nurse needed for Less than 1 month Opportunity Description: During the summer, Walcamp Outdoor Ministries has ten weeks of summer camp for traditional campers and campers with disabilities. Every week a Registered Nurse and/or doctor comes and spends the week on camp, monitering and distributing medicine, and is on call for minor first aid. The commitment is for an entire week (Sunday afternoon to Friday afternoon). Volunteers will be housed in our retreat facilities and are able to bring family members with them. Children can participate in that week of camp for free. Food and Lodging are also free. Total Number of Volunteers Needed: 15 Find Out More Current Job Openings (Paid Positions) Summer Camp Nurse needed in Kingston IL Job Description: A Summer Camp Nurse would be a part of Walcamp's paid summer staff during our ten week Summer Camp Program. This position is for Registered Nurses or Doctors. The Summer Camp Nurse would live on site and would participate in staff training (the first week of camp). They would moniter and distribute medications and would be on call for minor first aid. Room and board is free, and weekends are off, with the exception of one weekend during the summer where Walcamp takes the summer staff to a weekend retreat on the lake.
